Yet again we taste the bitter sweet nectar of easily attained friendlies that leave a sour aftertaste to start the season. And why you may ask has it taken so long to file our reports? Simply that the players and coaching staff were invited to Tottenheim’s pre-season party!

But alas, a new season is upon us once more, and so we lament upon the games past that leave us once again in a worse state.

Game 1
After a disappointing cup run against some very lucky Rats in the dying seconds of the game, whom later went on to win the whole cup, we leaped at the chance to hone our tactics against these alien furry ferrets.

This game against InterRatz ionale would give our Rookie Mummy a great opportunity to improve hitting these quick paced dodgy creatures, perfect preparation for fighting those newly arrived Amazons.

Not only did we manage to outbash them by a great margin, but our Ghouls and Wights were even capable of matching their ball play with newly signed Wight, Carlos Martinex Diez, scoring a non-competitive Hat-Trick.

Alvaro Novo Ramirez even managed to get two casualties, almost perfecting the art of blocking.

All in all… a great exhibition game that generated enough revenue to purchase a new Ghoul.

The game finished 3 – 3 despite the best efforts of a Rat Ogre to ruin Inter’s whole day.

Game 2
This was to be an all Undead affair against the Under 21s, we would show these Juniors how to play at the top level of err… Undeaddom!

The two teams had greatly differing styles of play, Maharak opted for an all speed, all Ghoul, offence and defence where as Real favoured more Zombies on the defence, in part from still smarting at the loss of a star Ghoul in last season’s friendly.

And so, where Real opted to keep their Ghouls away from harms way, with only one of them ever requiring to dodge from a tackle, Maharak led most of their plays with the most brittle of their players… courageous indeed!

The game was mainly about building the experience of the less mature of the team, Alvaro Novo Ramirez excelled again, taking another two casualties and finally perfecting his art of blocking, whilst newly signed Ghoul Markel Bergara Larranaga sailed home two TDs to kick start his promising career.

The game finished 2 – 2, with Real just falling short of managing to break the tie.

My new Blodging Mummy aged a niggle… you may have heard me mention it in chat, on the forums, anywhere and everywhere I could find someone to listen really to my woes, really. And it was a niggling mummy that really hurt me last season…

This season the team seems in even rougher shape with 3 key players niggled, and cash falling far short to replace them any time soon.

This season looks pretty grim for us amongst the other Premiership teams, having an injury crisis even before the first kick of the new season, and I mean from the DPs boot not the ball. I guess we’re relying on the skills of a couple Ghouls and a shed load of Zombies to see us through and in better shape for the Cup and Season Four, hopefully in the Premiership.
