“Round 2 of the inaugural Scheduled SMACK

I knew things were going to be rough when Peikko killed a saurus on turn 1, leaving me down a key player and with the (incompetent) apothecary used up. Harry Harmless clearly left his fouling boots somewhere in Quetzalcoatl's corpse as he didn't foul again for the entire match! (despite blood-hungry Transistor fans getting the ref at one point)

I used my huge movement advantage to charge through players and put pressure on the ball from Peikko's first turn (he received) and this led to a quick turn 3 TD for the lizards. For the rest of the half I succesfully defended against the chaos dwarves offense & managed to seriously injure their star bull centaur which was a relief. However in return the skinks were starting to fill the cas/KO box leaving it 10 vs 8 in my disadvantage for the 2nd half kickoff.

On turn 2 of the second half things looked grim when a second Saurus bit the dust though I think peikko overcommitted on moving his army towards one sideline when I ran the ball carrier to that side. One skinky burst of speed later and the ball was on the other side of the pitch out of reach out of most of the chaos dwarf side (though unfortunately my saurus wasn't able to work out how to catch the pass!). Numbers arrived but a missed hobgob pickup let me blitz in and free the ball for a skink and once again I was able to speed to the far corner and safety. The TD the following turn sealed the game but the cost in lizard bodies was grim.
