A game that just did not go our way at all.

Gondor received the opening kickoff and KOed a lineman and ogre on their first turn. We responded by having 3 2d blocks all for pushes. The poor play continued as our players were stunned or removed from the pitch quickly and we were reduced in numbers. With a 4 man advantage quickly built, the Stewards of Gondor attempted to stall, however, they underestimated the speed of our catchers and suddenly our sidestepping DT catcher was marking their ballcarrier and our dauntless catcher helping nearby...however, a POW put down our catcher and they scored...but still, it succeeded in giving us 2 turns to score. We responded well, with our catcher open in the endzone and the pass on target, but he could not hang on (failed 3+ with RR)...so it was 1-0 at the half.

We received the ball in the second half...our ogre still remaining out, and quickly things turned sour for us. The buzzing iron man blitzer from Gondor was having good luck - frenzy put him in -2d blocks and 1d blocks, but he did not skull, and they continued to KO our players. A dodge and 1d block nailed ballcarrier, but we recovered by facing too many Gondor players, we had to score giving them 2 turns to score. They spent their last RR to pass the ball forward and we had 1 turn to stop them...2 RRs in the bank...1 gfi put us in position to blitz his ballcarrier...but dauntless failed (just needed 4+ on 2d6), and even with the RR, the result was push and bothdown...however, we still had plenty of players marking him and he had no RR. He made a 2d block...then 2 gfi...then a 1d block...then another 1d block...then a 3+ dodge...and scored the winning TD.

From start to finish, we simply could not get the rolls that we needed when we needed them and we suffer another bitter defeat in the return of the ring campaign.

Good luck to the rest of Mordor - avenge us our evil brothers!!
