#5 Fingolithin – Dead (RIP)
Dear Vanyar,

In every campaign there is on battle that does not go according to plan no matter how well it may have been mapped out. This campaign that game belonged to the One Ring Bearers, the Stewards of Gondor.

The Stewards began with the ball and immediately put our LOS down to ground, following this up by a callous and savage foul that finally killed the ailed Fingolithin. The Stewards, like those of Akallabeth, seemed more interested in causing us harm than they did the ball, and left the ball carrier easily accessible to harassment. We poured our players through, led by our team captain, Torin.

The Stewards fell back and hammered Torin, badly hurting him… In a few more dizzy minutes the Stewards had knocked several more unconscious and even killed Idgar, thankfully saved by the efforts of our doctor.

In the face of this utter savagery in which the One Ring had obviously instilled incredible strength unto our opponents, we retreated to safety. The relentless Stewards charged us once more, even with their ball carrier, leaving him vulnerable and giving us hope. We managed to get to him but were unable to knock him to the ground. This time he retreated, but once again the Stewards seemed intent on hurt us rather than supporting their ball carrier. We blitzed him again, and then again, finally taking him down, was this enough to prevent the score?
… Alas no, the ball bounced into the hands of one of his comrades who dodged away to score.

1 – 0

As we lined up for the dying seconds of the first half against three lonesome Stewards, the anger and frustration heaved from us as we pounded two of their numbers into the casualty box; not that, unlike us, the Stewards would suffer from their loss come the second half.

Fortune had not favoured the brave, and it had also turned its head upon us when we fled like cowardly Orcs; we hoped on our drive it would smile upon us.

Outnumbered, we made our play, bringing the fight to the Stewards and making a good job of it. We delayed well and made an opening for a pass and run which we completed in style, alas when a simple two man attack on one of the Stewards was required to plug the last remaining gap to our ball carrier came, it was inevitably this that ended disastrously. From that point, the dodging abilities of the Stewards, which was second to no elf on this day, made short work of our ball carrier, and they quickly procured it for themselves.

An unstoppable avalanche of Humankind carried the ball to a devastating 2 – 0 victory, had left both our pride and team damaged.

We pledge to repay these Humans who have now scorned us twice this campaign, and swear to bolster our numbers beyond eleven!

Regards,
Tarius

A frustrating, un-enjoyable game to play, but none of which is a reflection upon G_Force who in contrast is pleasure to play and who did his best to put up with my annoyance.
The early CAS and numerous KOs, I think I had 6 men after 4 turns, really left me with little hope in the first half. Although my rolls weren’t terrible, thier timing was just all wrong.
I failed the rolls I needed to make, such as the important dodges and blocks (2ds), and got the rolls when I didn’t need them, 2 CAS in turn 8.

Still don’t seem to be able to get more than 11 players.
Flings and Eisen next, I’m not going to underestimate these little fellas, but I am hoping to stay alive for once! :)

GG G_Force, hope giving Russo and I the neg points instead of Borup and Grit bites you in the ass. :P
