#9 Vortax Eyegoudger – Dead (RIP)
nice report leijonet.. the orcs just hadnt the right dice at the right time. i had to have at least one really nice dice streak at one of three occasions to change this game, but nuffle did not grant either of them to the orcs ;-) the pretty agile chaos allowed surprising game tactics liking passing play in tzs and leaping over green meat walls, which were new to the rrr. first foul spot and some nasty early kos and cas inflicted by the numerous claws made it really tough to play this game..

gl next round.. hope i will be able to specc :)

GLT IV Main Event -Round I

Handicap for RRR: Buzzing.

RRR hired Ripper and gave him Buzzing, creating a dangerous ST6 troll. Dangerous to both sides, as his lack of block wasted four rerolls during the game.

RRR started with the ball, and caused a cas on the very first block of the game, BH on a skilless beastman. The Orcs knocked down all four players they blocked, but the ref spotted the first foul even though he didn't even break armor on the troll.

Poems advanced and caused a KO on a blitzer. After this there were some blocking to and fro for a couple of turns, with Poems coming out on top more often than not. However a bold maneuver got the ball forward to a blitzer, and some impressive dodging by Vortax Eyegoudger (SF blitzer) stopped any chance to blitz the ball. The orcs tried to stall for a turn, but this brought two tacklezones on the ballkeeper.

In their greatest hour of need Nuffle decided to punish the orcs for all the successful dodges earlier by making the ballkeeper fail the dodge to score, although SF kept him on his feet. The next turn The Happiest Season got him down and stunned him, and The Charge of the Light Brigade caused a BH on the other SF blitzer, Vortex. After some considering Brainsaw decided to apot this, but the 4+4+ rolls required to score was denied him. The Charge of the Light Brigade blocked him again, this time causing a RIP! He was afterwards heard muttering "...And stay down, BITCH!".

Poems recovered the ball and had a small chance of scoring, but missed the pass. 0-0 after the first half, Poems receiveing and the orcs down on SF blitzer and a block BOB.

Second half was tense, with a turn of bad blocking giving RRR the opportunity to put a tacklezone on the ballkeeper, Time Is. Time Is dodged away and passed the ball forward, but the CW with the ball was brought down. There was some scuffling around the ball, now deep within RRR's half of the pitch, but an unlucky dodge and a failed Chainsaw-blitz finally allowed The Happiest Season to leap into a tz, pick up the ball, dodging away and giving the ball to Time Is who scored a TD in turn 16. Man, you just got to love that Leaping AG5 CW :)

The ref spotted the Chainsaw Gobbo, rendering the OTS impossible.

A very good game, I was lucky in the first half to stop the score, and the second half was a very tense affair indeed, with the Orcs causing some KOs and the Chainsaw Gobbo niggling my ST5 CW, although the apot was able to save him.

Brainsaw was forced to some difficult plays to stop me and rcover the ball, if he'd managed to score in the first half it would most likely have gone to OT and become a very tense affair. Orcs are always tough for Chaos, I'm glad that luck and skill allowed me to go on to the next round. Brainsaw really made me fight for it, with skillful plays and sound tactics. We both had some luck, good and bad, it could have gone either way.

The Raven rolled a double for his third skill after the game, giving me some more clout in the rest of the tourney, and enough cas to hire something if necessary. GLT, here I come!

GG Brainsaw, well played. See you on the pitch for a rematch!
