“A really fun game for the crowds featuring a host of end to end action and fun plays.

The dorfs rolled a rune of stone for their runesmith/wizard and the coach was asked who to give it to. Not quite knowing what it did he gave it to someone who had sure feet so that it would have added effectiveness. - now I've got a funny feeling it gives you sure feet![-to be edited] - And Romli's been moaning why he didn't get it the last 24 hours!

The Dorfs won the toss and chose to receive - wanting to dish out some 1st turn pain - and set up high on the line of scrimmage to do just that - and were subsequently surprised as the Dark Elves sent men pouring through his line to attack Romli - the ball carrier at the back - we don't get to play elves much!

Romli used his secret weapon - Hail Mary Pass - early - to escape a sacking - and put the ball in the corner - shoudl eb safe there right - even if the Elves pick it up they'll get smashed by my near by dorfs - WRONG! - forgot that wih Elves picking up, handing off and passing to safety is something pretty frequent!

Luckily the moment got to the darkelves and a missed catch gave me some extra time for defence... - the elves got a man to within a space of my endzone, when Barundim - the rune-speeded Blitzer went for it and made a block on the ball carrier - he dropped and ball bounced - right into the hands of the waiting Romli! (awesome!)

This started a 4/5 turn drive which saw him running from the space next to his own endzone all the way to the Blue's endzone - a non-scoring single drive rush of 29 spaces - he could only have down 'better' if he'd started in his own endzone!
The slow Longbeard guards meant he had to break from the cage to stand a chance of a td a turn's distance from the Endzone. The Elves couldn't down him, and he went for a little blitz(well push) and dodge through them (awesome!) and had the Endzone in sight - gfi 1 succeeded -- gfi2 - oh dear - tripped stepping over the Endzone line.

Yes Romli - you could have done with that rune of speed!


The Dark Elves final turn of the half nearly saw them score - but some quality fumbling stoppped that potential travesty!

Second half - the Dark Elves took control in a manner that merited them the match - keeping the ball carrier deep and safe, and the other elves all out of reach of a dwarven fist.
The Witch Elf - Ring of Fire II was down and repeatedly fouled - I had a bad feelign about her - getting two stuns and a player sent off - and who do you know it should pop up and score - her of course!
A death to an Elf, and a successful crowd push by the Elves on one of my ST4 Dorfs kept the crowd very happy.

Well done somertown for the tournament win
