Returning to the locker room, he reflected on the match. This was one Mystery Inc should have lost. The first half of the match was very reasonable. Both teams banged each other around at mid field with little effect. The DP for the Slubberters was tossed early, as was the Black Knight zombie. The only real damage was on the opening chaos blitz that ended the career of a promising wight.

Kondor was very happy to end the half with a 0-0 tie. Taking the second half kick, Mystery Inc could do little to move the ball. In fact, mid way through, a dodging beastman blitzed Fred to jar the ball loose, and a second beast scooped it up and bolted down the field.

By all logical reasoning, this is where Coach Lars should have seen a victory. But it was not meant to be Velma shouted "Jinkies" and ran headlong alone after the ball carrier and actually blasted the ball loose with it falling into her hands. She then held it so tightly a blitzing chaos warrior could not pry it loose.

This left just enough time for her to get the ball to Fred so he could scamper away with it. How he made it to the endzone is a mystery for another day.
