“The Vanguard of the Southern Ark parked their Black Ark off the coast and disembarked to take the fight to the Red Star Strikers. The Vanguard are late replacements in this league, but are two time Premier Champions to go with an impressive COnference record. They were slightly undermanned, but the Red Star Strikers haven't been in the best form of late.

The Dark Elves managed to get the kickoff and took the fight to the Strikers in the first half. It was a game of keepings off as they sought to exploit the lack of pace and agility on behalf of the Dwarves. Gothiq'ne Romantika, the Southern Ark Witch Elf, skillfully evaded the Dwarves as they attempted to run her down. Finally, after luckily escaping a blitz which seemed to have her pinned against the sideline, Romantika was able to get the first score on the board to put the Darkies up 1-0. The Reds tried desperately to push through and equalise before the half but fell short. Their failure to inflict any damage on their opponents left them at a serious disadvantage and they went into the half time break trailing.

The Reds pushed forward in the second half, but never hurt the opposition. They were able to maintain possession and stay in control of the half, but without inflicting serious damage, the Strikers seemed content to settle for a draw. That's the way it ended up, with the Strikers failing to cause a casualty until close to the end when Crimson Warden was badly hurt by Lavrenti Beria. The Reds had their chances in the first half but failed to stop Romantika or score themselves despite a couple of nice completions from Klaus Fuchs. The second half was not a spectacle for the fans, as the Strikers refused to risk letting the Elves score a late equaliser. The Strikers are now winless after three games, though they scored a win due to forfeit earlier in the season. Their coaching staff will be working hard with them during the week to get back to the form that saw them take more than four casualties a game. Their attack this season has seemed to lack the same intensity and their formline reflects this. Next week the Soldiers play the top of the table Schola, a Chaos team that has taken all before it so far this season.
