#11 Reticent Acquescience – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#16 Evicted Reality – Smashed Hip (-MA)
Kazi! Did ya get that silk embroidered uniform giftwrapped and sent yet?

"Erm, ya coach...but. Dont ya think it sorta isn't quite appropriate?"

"What dya mean? The Seekers love them...they're a blood bowl team. The woodies are a blood bowl team. Tis only logical."

Kami gave up. Sometimes what was left of da coach's brain after he necromanced wasn't properly connected. And while the woodies giftwrapped this game for the seekers, he was pretty sure this present wasn't going to be received with the same sentiments. In fact, he was pretty sure it was doomed to backfire. The next time they should meet the woodies, Kami thought he would be glad he was only assistant coach.

The Game

It seemed to be one of those games where all that mattered was the coin flip. Handicaps were no help (bad press and bribe the ref). The weather was very hot - that was really going to put on the hurt as our numbers would get whittled away. First block cas. Then after the woodies let us scoot through for an early td without much resistance, the hurt continued. With elves getting torn apart, they needed some assistance, so they called on the wiz who promptly farted when he should have fireballed and lost his concentration as his senses rebelled at the noxious cloud that seemed to magically cling to his person. No help at all from that quarter.

Then the elves fell over themselves as they made a couple of last ditch efforts to make a game of it and turned it over so frequently they continued to get themselves hammered and karted.

Then late first half, with the Woodies set up for a sure touchdown (which they promptly scored on turn 8), they let the foot off the pedal. Which should have still been ok. The seekers had already given up and were uncharacteristically laying the boot in (and characteristically being totally ineffective).

Second half started out with more of the same. I think it was some five or six blocks before the chaos failed to break the armour. The seekers put in a final effort see if they might get obscenely lucky and
tried to tangle the ball carrier on the second turn. They managed to do so, but it was a simple matter for the beastmen to disengage. There were only six elves left on the park by this stage.

However, there it all went wrong for the woodies. A slow grind down the field was in order, but Rainbow Warrior impulsively charged downfield...almost alone (but for a troll and chaos warrior alongside). Now strung out, the final six elves rallied and screened the ball carrying herd from the clawed herd. It didn't come with immediate results. But the elves were finally performing, making their dodges and even getting the odd ko. On the flip side the pressure induced a rerolled double skull at the worst possible time for the woodies and finally, after three turns, the seekers had the ball! Even a late bolt from the wizard wasn't quite enough to stop the winning touchdown. Late being the keyword - we were wondering where the woodies wiz was when he could have been useful about three turns earlier!

10 wins on the trot and another escape this game. We're starting to get really worried about the impending doom of debacular proportions that is accumulating on the horizon.

Twahnlow Votes:

3 - Whoberry sliced and diced. In just six blocks he carted two of the seekers. Then he went quiet, we suspect because erik wants to keep his lethality in reserve. He could have done alot more damage.

2 - Rainbow Warrior: ok, he was probably the root of their demise, but he was a very useful runner for the team. Didn't even blink when a fireball was coming his way.

1 - Slats: (have to check the replay to make sure it was he) pulled a brilliant sequence of dodges in turn 16 to set up a blitz, but got unlucky on the block.
