Well...drew not-so-rookie Ogres for my first match with Norse. Match pretty much went how I suspected it would.

Ogres with 64% don't fail a lot of BoneHead rolls.
The POW a lot of blocks.
A lot of those POW's break AV.
A lot of those AV breaks kill or maim.

He did manage to pooch a couple of 3 dicers, one actually prevented a TD...but that only stopped it from being 1-3 instead.

I was seriously appalled at how perfectly his inaccurate goblin throws landed. I was very seriously appalled that my only handicap was negated by the first kickoff roll giving him back a RR. I was hideously seriously appalled by everything else that match, including what may have been a grand total of 4 BoneHead failures. I burned through 4 RR before he used one second half...but then again, I only had 4 guys, so I was making desperate rolls, and he was making 3 dice blocks...

For once though, MVP went to the exact right guy...Jezebel, who was one of the few to last until the bitter end. Jezebel, whose no fear -2d blocks even took down some ogres...and Jezebel, who scored our only casualty early on by throttling the goblin Waak until his vertebrae sounded like hobnail boots on coarse gravel.

Shame I don't believe in retiring a team for a mash-up first match. These guys are going to struggle with recovery for some time I imagine...
