“Obba Championship, Season 7 - Round 4

The Khornets received, and pushed their way in to the ranks of Chaos Dwarves. However they didn't get too far, and despite numerous blocks from either side, there were a full compliment of players on the pitch by turn 4/3... but the CD's were pressurising the ball carrier on the half way line.

Some more lack lustre blocking followed, with the ball carrier still under threat, but then the Khornets got into gear and KO'd a CD, BH'd a DP hobgob, and pushed down the flanks of the CD's. However, the persistant CD's still managed to throw together more defence and pressure on the ball carrier. The game hung in the balance.

The John Barnes II (the CW) KO'd in a both down... and he doesn't have block!, and the ball carrier got sacked and the ball spilled away. Another change in luck on the luck rollercoaster, as the Bull failed a gfi to pickup. Back to Deuce...

But the Chaos side couldn't get to the ball despite valiant attempts, and the CD's secured it for a scoreless half. 0-0.

I think it was a Blitz! that started the 2nd half and I was delighted to see the ball in the hands of the Khornets. Soon CW Wilf Rostron BH'd a CD, and the tide started to turn. By turn 2/1 there were just 6 CD's on the pitch to 11 chaos! Despite some valiant defence the CD's were overwhelmed with another BH from Wilf.

The chaos side paid in part for their stalling as Duncan Welbourne took a hard one, resulting in a niggle. But a turn 8 score secured all 3 points and upset the league standings!

Tough game, which we managed to luck our way through! Thanks Andy for a good game.
