“SWL Season XXXI - Premier League XXXI - Round 2

After more than one defeat at the hands of the original WDDs, this match was our best shot at some semblance of revenge on the wood elves that evaded us so well in the past. The fact that they've transformed into a *very* scary chaos team had us worried, but with cash in the bank, we brought along both Zara and a Wizard to aid out chances.

Receiving in the first half, the girls started well, but a solid defence by the woodies saw them stop dead (well, knocked out mostly, but you get the idea) half way up the pitch. Philberto did his job extremely well, taking down two consecutive ball carriers, and forcing Flesh Burna to make the play of the match dodging her way past the three beastmen surrounding her to collect the ball and score a miraculous touchdown in turn 8.

The wood elve offence was not as stong as we remember it. Numbers began to dwindle rather quickly (on both sides, but ours a little more quickly than theirs). We somehow managed to find ourselves in possesion of the ball, but it was not to last. Despite a brilliant fireball, a poor blitz saw the ball carrier undefended, and the ball came loose. The ball it seemed did not want to be held, and for the final few turns it spent a lot of time simply eluding the hands of those that tried to pick it up (or those that tried to catch it). In the end, Leafy managed to snag it on a claw, at which point the ball burst, and the ref decided that it was time to put an end to the match.

Three casualties, and 3 KOs (or was it 4?). In any case, this guy is an absolute monster! He even took down two ball carriers (in consecutive turns). Lucky for us, there is only one of him, or we wouldn't have stood a chance!

2 pts: Passive Miguel Sanchez
Passive he may be, but this fellow was a solid player all match, placing his assists wherever they were needed most. The sort of player that may not make the spectacular plays, or even bother smashing his foes to pieces, but is exactly who you want at your side when you take to the pitch.

Took down Heart Breaka at a crucial point when she blitzed him, giving the woodies one final chance at a touchdown.
