“The Norse were living right in this one:
-All 5 niggled players showed up
-Handicaps:
-Doom & Gloom
-Knuckledusters (hilarious for an ogre team)
-Greatest (one of the effected players was mng, and I didn't think that was even allowed)
-See above, handicaps did virtually nothing
First half drive was a comedy of pushes and skull/pows, culminating with the norse stealing the ball at the sideline by dodging into 2 tackle zones, picking up in 2 TZ with sure hands, and from there, completing a long pass to a guy too far for me to catch up to, all with no team rerolls left (5+, 5+, 6, 3+ for those scoring at home: 2% chance to work). 1-0 at halftime
Second half went a bit better for the ogres. Norse received and attempted a pass up the sidelines, which clanged to the ground. The ogres swarmed with goblins and pushed the intended receiver (a blitzer) away. Over the course of several turns the ogres mashed a path upfield, and made a handoff to Kazmic, who needed some spp. We scored in T6, leaving each side 2 turns to decide the outcome. I could have played for the tie, but I'd rather try for a win when it's possible. Unfortunately a tie was destined; neither team got solid control of the ball before time expired.
Upside: one of my ogres gained +AG, becoming my de facto running back.”
