“SWL Season 32: Manfred's Funeral Gala Conference League - Game 4

A big game for the Vermin, and one we only just got away with. We kicked off in the first half, had 2 players badly hurt in the first turn, and another seriously injured in the second. The Strikers worked the ball to midfield, where we unloaded a fireball on them, with mixed success. Things got cramped, but ET(who played a pretty strong game) managed to dislodge the ball eventually, setting up Sabine to run away for the first TD.

Kicking back to the Strikers, we were hoping to hold them out till halftime, but probably played a bit defensively. We hung back, but Kliment Voroshilov made our defense look pretty flimsy, and busted through to level the scores.

With one shot at a TD before halftime, the Vermin turned it on, with Sabine connecting to Heinz-Harald, who was jostled into position, and streaked down the sideline to preserve our lead at 2-1 for halftime.

The second half was a real test for both teams. Recieving, we pushed left, then right, but didn't find much space, even with ET killing Lenin in a bone rattling one man tackle. We got too bogged down with the Strikers, and Fuchs ended up coming away with the ball, connecting with Kliment Voroshilov. With time running out Kliment had to evade Frentzen before sprinting for the equaliser....but it was too much for his stubby little legs, falling tragically(for the Strikers) short of the butterline, giving the Vermin the victory,
