“Atlatl 2 - 1 DeTroit in OT

The Atlatl cinderella continues. How, why, WHAT?!?!?!?

Yes by some fluke grace of Nuffle the Falchions were able to sneak out another victory that cost them several team members and advanced to the Superbowl.

Atlatl stuck to their slogan all season. 'Never Back Down!'

Atlatl chose to recieve in the 1st half and was able to set up a few surfing and dirty play opportunities while advancing down their right flank. Quickly seriously injuring an orc blitzer before DeTroit even got to move. DeTroit was able to scoop up the ball for a moment before Atlatl's game plan went into action. The DeTroit orcs seemed suprised by Atlatl's direct approach and ended up with two orcs surfed including an orc torn apart by the crowd. Speedster Tham'os Brun taunted Chris Speilman most of the 1st half before Chris was surfed himself. Finally the Lionz were able to bully Atlatl into scoring earlier than they intended. The extra time wasn't enough for DeTroit to score before the half but they still had the whole 2nd half to play orc style ball.

Atlatl 1 - 0 DeTroit

DeTroit recieve and immediately began playing to their strenghts with a 10-8 advantage. With both sides fans making sure the ref wasn't going to call any more of those pansy foul calls for the rest of the half. DeTroit bashed Atlatl's youngest saur into the infirmary (likely to be hindered by a nuisance injury the rest of his career). Before the Falchions had a chance to move in the 2nd half they suffered a niggles Saur a badly hurt skink and a knocked out kroxigor who never returned for the rest of the game. The bodies began to drop and remain down. In what was a horrifying moment for the Lionz, DeTroit's star BoB ate a boot that looked to kill him until the orcs cirugeon went out onto the pitch and restuffed his brains into his skulls and nailed his forehead back on with a protective skullplate covering it up. DeTroit's 9 had a hard time keeping Atlatl from pestering the ball carrier as they focused on trying to wipe out the remaining lizards to make for an easy overtime. After a failed blitz left the Lionz on the goalline with the ball Detroit walked the ball in. But to everyones suprise Injury Time was called on the next kickoff making the score 1-1 and Atlatl had 2 turns left to score. The lionz managed to badly hurt one of Atlatl's remaining skinks while Atlatl returned the favor badly hurting one of DeTroits linemen going into OT.

Atlatl 1 - 1 DeTroit

DeTroit won the coinflip in OT and recieved with 9 against Atlatl's remaining 4 some of those in attendance began to leave seeing the inevitable. With a goblin foul on the kickoff and a failed apoth for the Lizards star Saur Jam'al Sandsen will no longer grace the pitch for the Falchions. Skink saw his 2 sauruii struggling with the orcs and stepped up to half pitch and was promptly killed by Barry Sanders but hindered the orc advance. DeTroit left the ball alone along their right flank and looked to finish off the remaining two saurs. Quin and Kroy fought claw and nail and were able to sneak free, blitzing the ball free into space. Quin was knocked down onto the ball and the fans threw the ball straight back in but to the center of the pitch between orcs but near Kroy. Kroy blitzed in and pushed the orcs away picked up the ball using Atlatl's final reroll and pulled it back to half field. The panicked orcs took up surrounding Kroy but left him one out! He Broke Tackle, dodged again and was in space! Quin blitzed and made sure to tie up some orcs giving Kroy his best possible chance. DeTroits Troll Lomas Brown virtually sealed DeTroit's superbowl chances away when he tripped going for it leaving Kroy alone over midfield with orcs behind him. DeTroit was able to put bodies on Kroy but he broke free and score the game winner as Overtime ran out.

When asked how this happened Kroy and Quin both still standing amidst their fans at midfield. They replied in unison. 'We Just Never Gave Up!'

Eisen, we would have counted this as a great game had we lost to you. At the end there we only had the crazy options and had nothing else, still can't believe they worked. Hope ya come out to boo us in the Superbowl.”
