Going into the championship, Oregon placed its flawless 7-0-0 mark (excluding the Georgia debacle) against the North Lustrian Huskies impressive 7-0-1 record. Both teams play outstanding defense and we expected a fantastic struggle on the day.

Star skink Justin McCairens was quoted before the game as saying "I refuse to be knocked out of this match! I promise everyone that I will be in this one to the end!" The matchup between Justin and Bill Gembala was one of the keys to today's game.

Oregon kicked off to NLH's Hollis Thomas, and then immediately fouled brawny saurus Cieslak, shattering his hand. The referee wasted no time sending off Oregon's Gerkensteiner for violent conduct. Seconds later, NLH's Sam Hurt was sent off for a ridiculously late hit on Oregon's star Bill Gembala.

Jack Cartwright tried to take advantage of the hole in NLH's cage, but Hollis escaped and danced down the pitch. Ducks littered the field while Hollis whipped the fans into a frenzy. Oregon's Nazzaromo blindsided Hollis, and the ball squirted free! A wild scramble for the ball left Hollis with the ball after all, and he scored for to put NLH up 1-0.

With time ticking down in the first half, Oregon got the ball to Gembala and he rushed down the field with some help. Confronted with a wall of skinks, Gembala attempted a pass for the touchdown, but was brought down by a diving Justin McCairens, ending the half.

Eight elves faced ten lizards to start the second half, and Gembala again took up the ball and dashed down the field. Again confronted by a wall of skinks, Gembala used his shocking agility to escape only to be brought down just short of the endzone. Undeterred, Gembala struggled to his feet, regained the ball, and leveled the score 1-1.

Justin McCairens collected the ball and advanced for NLH, well protected by his teammates. After breaking free from Ken Schilleman, Justin was hit by a mug of ale just before handing the ball off! The ball squirted out of bounds and a lizard fan tried to throw it to his favorite player, Lizzy! Sadly, the Kroxigor was looking the wrong way, and Gembala collected the ball and ran to the sideline. A wave of lizards swept over the elves and Gembala was knocked out in the confusion. Thus ended the second half, and it was time for overtime!

Gembala could not be revived for overtime, so second string lion Cipro took the handoff and charged down the pitch, with a big wedge in front of him. NLH's skinks committed heavily to the play, but wait! It was a fake handoff! DuPen pulled the ball from behind his back and hurled the ball to the other sideline, connecting with Cartwright! Touchdown Oregon, taking the lead 1-2!

Six elves remained, and nine lizards quickly flattened those on the line of scrimmage. Justin advanced with the ball, but Mondale and Schilleman combined to knock the ball free again. Blood made the ball slippery, and Hollis fumbled the ball not once, not twice, but thrice in his haste to score! The remaining ducks scrambled around trying to keep the ball out of lizard hands, and the ball evaded McCairens' grasp as time expired. A crazy finish to a fantastic championship match.
