The Investigators had entered an abandoned asylum in the search for clues to unraveling the Ancient Ones horrible plan. In the former library they found a book detailing a ritual that would help them in their battle. Just as they realised what they'd found noises started coming from the walls all around them, scrabbling, skittering noises... After a moment they realised the horrible truth. There were rats, rats in the walls!

As if this was a signal large rat-like beings suddenly assaulted the Investigators from all sides, spawn of Shub-Niggurath, The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young! Outnumbered and backed into a corner the only way to get clear was to fight their way through the teeming hordes.

Knowing they fought not only for their own lives, but for the fate of all humanity the Investigators grimly charged into the fray. With a fury born of desperation they managed to fight their way through the oncoming hordes, which broke again and again on them like waves from a sea of madness. "Ashcan" Pete was dragged down and viciously mauled and was rushed to the hospital, and once clear of the Asylum it was also found that Lola Hayes had been Cursed; she will be forced to visit the South Side Church to remove this blight once things are stabilised.

Despite this the Arkham Investogators are once again successful. Battered and bruised, but still very much alive and fighting the good fight. Bring on the next challenge!”
