“The Battle of the Southern Snows

In driving snow that lasted the entire game, two Dark Elf teams met to test each other's mettle on the pitch. The Silverfeet were still stung by their opening day loss to the Orcs, and were itching to prove themselves. The Villanos Y Malvados had lost a player recently yet seemed to be in good, fighting spirits.

The icy weather turned out to be a deciding factor in the game: after they elected to receive, the Villanos thrower, Darth Vader, couldn't seem to keep a grip on the ball in the first half, and this led to the Silverfeet's first score. The VyM rallied afterward, though, and it seemed sure they would tie it up - until an unlucky block opened a hole in their line, which the Silverfeet were quick to capitalize upon. The first half ended 2-0 with the Silverfeet receiving.

It was in the second half that the tide turned a bit: the VyM started hitting hard, not wanting to end the game having been shutout. They put several Silverfeet in the dugout, with Darnari going out for the rest of the game. A few moments later, Aedru fell to a mighty block by Pierre Nodoiuna... and the apothecary, having already saved a life that night, could not save his.

Aedru's death enlivened the Silverfeet, though, and they put up a spirited battle that kept their Dark Elf rivals from reaching the end zone. The game ended in a celebration tinged with sadness on both sides for the lost warrior. Sink down, oh Aedru, and let those below be reminded that the Silverfeet shall not return!

Thanks to karrasahntemi for a great game filled with fun chatter and wacky, ice-laden hijinks. He played very well, and it would have been a much closer game had he not been laden with some very untimely misfortunes.
