#2 Hoofler – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#3 Thumpar – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#3 Thumpar – Smashed Hip (-MA)
#8 Tankstatus – Broken Ribs (MNG)
Well, an interesting kickoff to the season.

The first half was a parade of critical failures that dismantled the Failure gameplan. The first being a snaked gfi on the first turn allowing the elfs to run in their first point, but the most crucial was a quad skull on the second drive. The failed blitz left my Disaray in an awkward position where she was promptly lightning bolted by the Woodland Wizard.

The second half looked like it was going to be rough for the Rotters, but when the elf team messed up a pass the Failure players knew exactly what to do and snatched a lucky point. With their dignity intact, all that was left to do was cause a little bit more carnage to the opposing team, as a prelude to the carnage they were going to be seeing in the locker room when I get my hands on them!

#1 George III – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#1 George III – Smashed Knee (NI)
#11 Ferdinand II – Broken Ribs (MNG)
One of those games where very little didn't go our way.

Pjj had a terrible start. With the kick falling to land by the sideline, Pjj needed a GFi to cover the ball and it failed, early on into Pjj's turn too. With Louise nearest the ball, we managed to grab and ping it back behind a line of Elves. From there, it was work the ball forward to score.

The next drive and Pjj starting hitting my elves a bit harder (although George was doing a great job staying upright). However, Quad skulls on a blitz came up. Nasty.

I wasn't sure I could hit the ball-carrier as there were too many dodges to be done, so out came the lightening bolt. ZAP! The ball spilled free and we pegged it downfield to Mary. We stalled out most of the half....2-0.

Next half and we pushed forward again, only for Mary to fail a throw. George got Niggled and we saved the apoth, only for Louise to get RIPed...thank goodness we I was 50/50 in going for it twice to handoff, vs throwing, to try and counter FA. Still not sure what was the right decision. Anyway, that AG5 montster Disaray got the ball and pegged it long. We tried to catch Tranq What? but he got away. 2-1.

With 3 turns to go, we held the ball in defence, trying to skill up Longshanks but it didn't happen. 2-1 the final result.

Apart from the new niggle, this was a good match for us. Thanks for the game pjj, best of luck in the following rounds. Oh and I agree....blodge held up very very well this game :)
