The Holy Month of Ramadan is taking its toll as the summer heat wears on and we played tired today after a night praying to Allah - al'humdilallah - for his Divine Blessings.
We met Coach Luoghcra in our Majlis and despite the fast and the passing of Suhoor, we offered him our finest dates and shisha and spoke of his team travels and stories.
Then with the sun rising higher in the sky, we began the match and the finely dressed elfs proceeded to show their agility to take the lead.
We were tired in our response and the fans, despite it being against the teachings of Allah - al'humdilallah - rioted in the stands and the game was delayed. We failed to recover and at the prayer break we remained behind on the scoreboard.
Allah was kind to us in the second period but perhaps a little too generous in his blessings for we started well and soon were able to score with still a quarter of the match to play.
In the huddle, Hazem bin Khalifa led us in prayer and we prayed for his divine intervention to preserve our unbeaten run intact.
And Allah smilled upon us al'humdilallah for the ball became slippery with the sweat of the faithful and the Elfs could not win the game.
At the end we prayed for the injured and were happy that all of the players were able to walk home to their families for Iftar.
TWAHNLOWS
3pts - Lord Debenham - consistent thorn with his AG5 Leap if he gets strip ball, look out!
2pts- HM Hennes - scored a TD and continuously taunted with his dodge skill in our backfield
1pt - Sir Austin Reed - Blodging catcher who was always a deep threat and did some nice blitzes as well”
