The first half started badly for the Lizards, as the Undead gained the upper hand with a blitz. This situation did not last long, as a trip and stumble by an undead player has left a small gap for a nippy little skink to sneak through the line of attack and put pressure on the End Zone. Again another trip and stumble early in the undead's 2nd turn enables a very quick TD. Things where looking up for the Lizards but only thanks to the Undead not being able to stay on their feet whilst moving. The next few turns played out with each team pushing and blocking with no real gains.....but guess what happens! A trip and stumble and you've guessed it. It's by the ever so -not so - steady undead.....the ball is grabbed and before we know it the half is over and the Lizards are 2 - 0 up!
The second have sees lady luck (and Nuffle) looking the other way. The Undead gain another 'free' turn. This time there are no stumbles and quickly into the match there are only a couple of skinks left on the pitch and they are surrounded by the walking dead....not looking good but a strong defensive line of saurus are ready and waiting. A quick game of "tag-you're-it" and the Undead are in a position to strike. A quick block (down goes another skink), a couple of saurus pushed out of the way and there is just enough room for a Ghoul to make his move. And what a move - a dodge, another dodge and a short pass into the end zone and the Undead claw a TD Back.
We are deep into the second half and with the the saurus lined up awaiting staring down the barrel of the undead.....so many players and the Mummies with guard are being too much of a pain. Nuffle smiles sweetly on the the UNdead and no matter how the lizards move they are counter-moved. This game is heading for an exiciting conclusion. Can the Undead break through again and steal a draw from this match. With the skinks down there are too many gaps on the field and with some ease (and superior coaching) the Undead walk the ball over the line. 2 - 2 the final score but what a game!
The crowd go wide will excitement and this time both coaches are luck enough to walk away from the pitch unhurt!
Until the rematch.............
