#11 Four Three Clubs – Fractured Leg (MNG)
Gratz on the win Cavetroll, well played. With only 11 players coming in, I knew we would need to either be very durable, or cause a ton of damage to win. We did ok on the damage front, although regen saved the two key ones. Overall I was happy with the tourney, as we entered solely to get some games in. Good luck in the finals, and til we meet again sir :)

FUMBBL SMACK Sched ELI CXXIX round 2

Setekh, you beautiful, beautiful Blitz-Ra, you! I spent all week deciding how to spend my 200k in inducements when I saw I was matched up against Coach JigerJones. I'd never won in 3 games before this match, and I knew I would need every advantage I could get. Last night I got the bright idea to ditch a reroll to increase the inducements I would get and decided to take a chance on Setekh. I'd induced him on several times before, including on this team once, but had only ever gotten marginal results (he usually got removed early or the one time he was doing ok the opponent conceded the match in T8). This game he was solid, scoring the 1st CAS of the game (at least for my side). The apothecary came up with the same result (I told Jiger it's a good thing it wasn't a RIP-apo-RIP). His Juggernaut came in handy at least once and his ST4 and Block made him a nice road block when I needed one. He never skulled out or forced me to risk a Loner check. I didn't end up needing his Break Tackle or Strip Ball (as JigerJones had a beastly S4, sure-handed ball-carrier) but it made me feel good to know they were there if I needed them.

Enough about Setekh. Miles, Duncan, Thufir and Gurney were all instrumental in our victory, but my MVP goes to Lady Jessica. On T7 she made a 2 gfi 1-die blitz on previously-mentioned beastman ball-carrier and got a Dodge/Star! Not only that, but she stunned the beastman and the ball stayed in bounds where I could cover it. Although it wasn't fool-proof, it was difficult enough that JigerJones didn't risk standing up his Blodge CW next to the sideline and tried to get it with a no-skill beastman who failed a dodge (with the reroll) and that sealed the game. Overall I was happy with the team's performance, I had very solid dice with almost no horrendous turnovers, and the kickoff events helped us both: 1 was a rock that stunned a ghoul, one was a pitch invasion in T8 that stunned 2 chaos and 1 undead, and the final was a Blitz! that allowed me to stun the Clawpomber but the ball went out of bounds. The CAS/KOs in the 1st half were pretty close to even but I started with more players so had a player advantage the rest of the game. My armor held up fairly well to Claw, Regen was 2 for 3 (much better than we normally do) and the Babes came through when we needed them in the 2nd half. The fouls were terribly weak, never netting anything worse than a stun and 1 ejection (the zombie, Glossu, on the same foul).

Coach JigerJones played a solid game, but his dice were not good the 1st half where he had at least 1 very unproductive turn that allowed me to stall all 8 turns. 2nd half his armor-breaking and INJ causing got a bit better but not enough to punch a hole. The skeletons seemed damn-near unbreakable tonight, unlike the ghouls who folded like France before the Blitzkrieg. The banter was good as always, and I think we both had a fun game. It was nice to get a win against a good coach, and even better against Chaos who usually seem to have my number. Thanks for a great game and I look forward to our next one.

Now we have to see who we are facing in the final and what inducements we will be getting. 2 Ghouls and a line-fodder Zombie will be sitting out but none of them are key players for the team. We'll miss the numbers of course, but hopefully we can make it up with inducements, possibly even Setekh again, or maybe even Ramtut!
