#12 Charlie Juicer – Gouged Eye (MNG)
The Warpstone Open VII Finals - Round 2 (Round 6 overall)

Faced with a huge bloated Lizard team, we had our work cut out for us...we came in with 350 TV in inducements and decided even with all our thick skull, we should take 2 babes - just in case...lizards had no PO, but did have MB on half of their Sauras. So and extra apoth and babes along with the wizard of course - and it ended up that all the inducements were key.

The game started with us receiving, but it was a deep kick and a blitz by the lizards...we were in a bad spot to start with now - with the deep kick, and our slow footed players...but we had just enough back to form a screen - but our position overall suffered and on Turn 1 for the Lizards, then BH one player and KO another (apoth used on the BH). Down players and out of position, it was really just a drive where we were first making sure we did not give up the defensive TD then see if we could salvage something. We had 2 more players KOed quickly and played the whole half down players. We gave up a blitz on the ball, and the lizards POW'ed our blodger and the ball was free - but we managed to recover and push downfield, some missed blocks meant little protection for our ballcarrier and on turn 7 the ball was knocked free and our runner stunned. However, Anika stepped up bigtime with the 1d blitz to push away the sauras and then the pickup to jog in for the TD.

With just 1 turn and our fielding 3 SF players on the LOS, no one turn TD was possible....so it was on to the second half with us up 1-0. As a note...the babes were huge - rolled 1, 2, 3 for my KOs...so babes got two of them back which was huge.

Second half started and we got a blitz - but lacked the speed to really take advantage...then the skinks tried to run past us, so we used the fireball - missed the ball carrier but got 2 of 3 others - so a longbeard blitzed the skink with the ball and it was free....sadly free into the crowd and tossed upfield. The lizards then had a clever plan - run the lone sauras to get the ball and head him downfield...well pickup worked, so he gfi'ed 2 times to get out of blitz range as well. We applied pressure enough to force the TD, and it was 1-1. The Lizards put 2 skinks on the LOS to start the next drive and we had KO'ed the Krox...well the skinks did not last long and finally we had the lizards outnumbered and spent the rest of the game pounding them into the turf before we scored for the 2-1 win.
