“Scheduled Smack Final:

Quite a game. Due to losing five key players in this tournament already - we were 510 TV lower than the Undead team - and so this was going to be a challenge. We took Shuttlespike, Skitter Stab-stab and a wizard to try to even up the odds. We started the game with a blitz and sensed a chance to strike. Even though a ghoul got the ball, we decided we had to keep pressing - and used our wizard...we still needed some dice - but got them with Shuttlespike running through everyone and grabbing the ball with a perfect spiral to the endzone (4+ pass!)...then our new gutter runner we just bought snaked the catch and was promptly surfed. However, we kept pressing - skitter was broken free and he stabbed the ballcarrier, shuttlespike raced in and grabbed the ball to race in for the TD.

Next drive however, we kept pressing...but shuttlespike was nailed - fouled for a BH. Then Skitter was KOed and stayed out all game (5 failed wake up rolls). So the inducements were done by turn 4 for the game...we tried - but our defense crumbled and we allowed the TD.

We had a chance to 1 turn it...and the undead made perhaps their only real mistake when they failed to setup a proper one turn defense allowing a tiny bit easier chance for us - which we took advantage of for a one turn TD with our new GR. Up 2-1 we went into the second half.

At this point we really just had our gutter runner, our rat ogre and a bunch of linerats. The game was ultimately decided because our line rats held up under constant blocking - had no choice but to mark up the undead and they did not break our AV 7 enough - that we had time. This allowed our gutter runner ultimately to race around the one side and pass it to a linerat we had downfield for the TD. Now up 3-1 with just 5 turns left.

We tossed everything we had at the undead to slow them down and managed to at least force enough rolls that it took them 3 turns to score. Still we were crumbling and had to stall out the last 2 turns. We punted the ball downfield and a last ditch hail mary by the undead fell just short.
