“First half went beautifully; Shrieking Bloodstorm recieved, removed troll and minotaur, and beat up on marauders while Telleek moved slowly down the field with the ball, to score on turn 8.

Unfortunately, 2 skinks including Shindahl were fouled out in return.

Then the second half started.. and all was still well! No damage done on the opening blocks.. and then suddenly things went wrong. 3 more fouls removed 2 more players; and although the marauders were regularly forced into 1 die blocks (and even a few -2d blocks), whereas the lizardmen almost always had 2 die blocks (except when they had 3 die blocks), and every single block by Shrieking Bloodstorm against a blodger had tackle, whereas many of the pact blocks were against wrodge/blodge with no tackle, and Shrieking Bloodstorm made 50% more blocks, the second half saw Oathless start with a 11 vs 10 advantage, and end with a 10v6 advantage.

And so, even though Shrieking Bloodstorm stole early possession of the ball (around turn 3), by turn 6 there simply weren't enough lizards to threaten the ball, let alone hold on to it, and so, with a little luck, the renegade elf successfully passed to the only marauder in scoring range; and the only Saurus who could have threatened him (S5 Frenzy) could not put down the marauder marking him, and so could not stop the marauder from scoring on turn 8. A one turn attempt was possible, and a quick snap made it seem reasonable.. but the ball could not be picked up by the skinks.
