“These lizardmen had just come off the back of a thumping and needed to recover this match with only 2 Saurii and no krox in the match lineup, the rest skinks. A stunty lineup was too tough to win with but they did give us some problems.
The stadium was near full of Heidelberger fans and they were disgruntled as our plucky Plebeians had a quick snap and took two journeyskinks straight off the field. A solid start and after 2 turns Jesiah and support had advanced well. But then came the skink attack! Turn after turn they crowded all around and as we fought back they sidestepped away from our sluggish blows! Jesiah was even taken down and Wilhelmus could not recover the ball. He eventually scooped it up, was pushed by the side and then made a meal of his dodge. After some more scrapping the Lizards successfully prevented the td! But 2nd half they setup with just 7 players. A failed dodge as we went at them got the ball to us and after some stalling Wilhelmus got our first td. They had a little time left but only 5 players and after a failed pass Wilhelmus seized the ball and managed to hand it off to Aldo "The butcher" for his first career td.
A fun game played in good spirit by JanHeartman, with the brave sidesteppers almost springing a surprise. We can see a use for tackle and mighty blow training..”
