#4 The Good Doctor – Smashed Collar Bone (-ST)
#6 Ebrin – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
#11 Maker Of A Stunning Baby Bisque – Smashed Collar Bone (-ST)
An excellent game against a fine Squig team and coach.

Apart from 2 BothDown=>2 Skulls, a failed bomb, and the odd bad dodge, the Eshin had all the luck in the world in the first half, winning both the coin-flip and stealing 3 RR with the Master Chef. Plaguewind was on his game, and made 2 casualties and several KOs. Pows came fairly regularly, and by turn 3, the Squigs were down several players and to 0 RR. A daring Leap and Pow from a Hopper broke the Assassin's hip, but the Apo put him back to rights, and the rats recovered the ball. By the end, the squigs were down to 4 players. Some fancy goblin dodging almost stopped the score, but the rats took advantage of a misstep, and carried the ball in on turn 8.

In the second half, mounting casualties made the defense tough, so we conceded a turn 3 score, hoping for a quick counterscore. Many of the rats were feeling decidedly sleepy, and Eshin fielded only 6 against the opposition's 6-- 2 Hoppers, 2 Herders, and 2 nasty looking Squigs. Even with the domination in the first half, and 2 more stolen RR in the 2nd, Squigs and Laggards were only 1 blitz away from flattening Together In Darkness and taking the ball out of reach for a game winning score.
In the crucial moment, however, the Squig in question–– the truly brutal Martin the Round, did everything right, but couldn't find a Pow or Pow/Push on 4 dice, choosing to go into the dirt himself, presumably out of shame. The Eshin screened the Assassin and brought in the score on turn 6.

Although the Eshin could only field 5 in the last drive, the kick was too deep, and the Squigs could not get the ball far enough. In their anger, they turned on the rats with new vigor, smashing collar bones of both a Night Runner and the Adept MVP. Nasty little bit, there...

Although the Eshin weren't able to make any headway in their quest for Blockers (or any skills, for that matter) they were able to have bragging rights for having, against all odds, beaten the SECOND nastiest Squig team in the Leeg!

Huzzah, my good man, rematch anytime!
