“Coach Kondor had heard that some games in the area of Imsogoth had sprung up recently, so he sent a scout to check it out. The scout never returned. He sent another, and this one returned a fortnight later. Kondor nearly did not recognize the fellow as he came into the tavern. He was pale and gaunt. But the message was good. Indeed, there was a team that played there regularly, and they were taking all comers.

Knowing Ismogoth was a human settlement Kondor sent for the team captain of the Pocket Hulks who agreed it was time they found a game. Soon the dozen "humans" made their journey to the settlement. They arrived at mid day and yet there was a thick haze in the air. Walking to the stadium they were in luck as they found Coach Pentalarc signing a contract with a new human recruit.

Once the transaction was complete, Kondor negotiated a fair deal with the coach. 60 - 40 split in the gate fee. Home team would keep any corpses for ceremonial burial immediately after the match. Once the terms were reached, word was proclaimed throughout the region that the game would occure that very evening.

The Pocket Hulks arrived as the moon reached its zenith in the night sky. As they met at midfield for the coin toss, the team captain of the nighthawks flashed a knowing smile. Immediately everyine knew that these were vampires.

The reaction amongst the hulks was contagious. One after the other they savagely contorted and shook. Even the vampires took a step back as the rage of the humans took over and all but two of them.....shrunk. Now instead of humans stood 9 raging mostly green midgets, and a pair of behemoths. Clearly, it would not be the match either coach had expected.

The crowd howled its approval.

The game itself was epic. Neither side could come up with a score though both threatened the endzone several times. Sadly, there wa no blood either, as all game long both sides pushed each other around. The vampire lust overcame them several times much to the horror of the thralls.

In the end, one goblin made a magnicifent play to seal the match. Dodging through tackle zones and back out he picked up the ball and made a strong push into the endzone.

Once both teams had calmed their inner deamons, Kondor met with Pentalarc to settle accounts. Begrudgingly he pointed at a large chest of gold told Kondor to take it and leave.

Kondor shook his head. Instead he put a new contract down in front of the vampire coach. "Double or nothing. Those vamps against a dark elf team of mine that needs a game."

The vampire smiled a toothy grin and stated, "You have got yourself a deal."”
