#4 That was left handed! – Fractured Leg (MNG) #5 Alley Oop – Smashed Hand (MNG) #10 Crowley – Pinched Nerve (MNG)
“This was a fun if messy first leap for the Alley-Ooops.
The first half started brightly with a diving catch made on the kickoff as a fine omen for the team's intent. That drive ended in a fairly fast score, and was punctuated by a gob fumbling a bomb and blowing himself up.
A defensive TD capped off an excellent first half from the Show-Froggies. And a pick on the Gobs' next drive almost gave the few assembled Ooop fans a dream 3-0 first half start but for a poor toss from "Go Looong" after his brilliant interception.
The second half got a lot more muddy with the Gobs not only breaking through the lines of ball-hawking frogs to make it 2-1, but also starting to draw clearly ahead in body count. For the critical drive on the miracle baller's last reception it was the Gobs turn to rush the ball and it was only a desperation dodge, pickup and throw that saved us from a 2-2 draw.
It might have been an auspicious start on the scoreboard but being comprehensively beaten up by Goblins is a worrying sign for the team's already dubious longevity.
Great game had by all ! Thanks Throwbacks & Lucky Jim.”
