Receiving the kick, centaur Bull-Steed Malbronk picked up a deep kick and ran downfield with a screen for company. Blocker Phil Beardsley badly hurt an orc lineman on turn 3 and the team's other centaur, Barry Beef-Venison, smashed the collar bone of the orc thrower the following turn. With the orcs outnumbered, Malbronk stalled behind a hobgoblin screen for as long as he dared, running in the opener on turn 6.
The orcs made a valiant effort to pull one back before halftime but the defence, helped out by Malbronk smashing the ankle of a black orc, held firm, leaving the blitzer ball-carrier needing stupid dice which failed to come off.
The 3-player chaos dwarf advantage was quickly reduced... as hobgoblin Don no-Goodman was sent off for stunning a lineorc. With the orcs pushing for a quick score they resorted to an attempted airborne offence, but Beef-Venison shrugged off a marker to intercept the pass, and midway through the half he ran in the second touchdown.
A quick snap gave the orcs hope of the quick score they needed, but again the defence held firm. 2 more orcs were knocked out but the remaining 6 took advantage of some over-eager counter-attacking, pulling of a quick pass and running downfield. Some minor hobgoblin heroics held up he inevitable but the orcs finally got on the scoresheet for a consolation turn 16.
The chaos dwarves lined up for a one-turn attempt, but a thrown rock from the crowd - resulting in an apothecaried blocker - and a double-POW put paid any plans for that... so instead, Malbronk picked up a quick pass for yet another SPP.
After the game, Beef-Venison levelled up and learnt how to dodge.”
