“Alas, the short but sweet season of these lovely ladies has come to a tragic end. Taffy, the heart and soul of the team, died while trying to assault an ogre who was terrorizing her teammates. Without her strength, both of body and of will, the rest of the team disintegrated around her. The cracks in our wall had been forming for some time, made a tad wider with every team member lost along the way, but through it all Taffy had stood strong. But the concussion she'd suffered so many games ago left her vulnerable to strong blows to the head, which was what the ogre delivered, so violently even the apoth stood over her body with hat in hand, weeping. Soda Pop, Taffy's best friend, threw her helmet at the team's medical staff trying to cater to her own serious injury, refusing to be treated nor to ride with the team any longer, now that her best friend and soul sister had departed this plane to the next jungle in the sky.

By mutual agreement, the Sweet Things are hereby and forthwith disbanding. Perhaps one day their decendants will pick up their banner and sally forth to do battle on the pitch, but for now, we wish these lovely ladies the best of luck in whatever their endeavors.”
