“So as the two teams took to the field it appeared that the difference in TV was considerable and for better or worse this was always going to play it’s part and the fans didn’t have to wait long to see just how. The Epedemic set up deep wary of those speedy rats and how easily they can out move a man especially ones so bloated they move at the speed of a dwarf. The Raiders took their babes and Fezglitz to even up the odds but it was not the blitz by the Epedemic that made the impact it was a spectacular miss swing of his ball and chain resulting in him eating it and removing his head as a consequence. From there on in it was as the pundits expected with the Raiders outmanoeuvring the opposition and scoring early through some sublime movement and ball handling skills of Snikch after which the obviously dim witted ref decided that as if Fetzglitch’s early demise wasn’t enough that he would ban him for good measure. With the ball in hand and buoyed on by the cheering fans the Epedemic started trying to make their way down field. After some bashing and dashing the teams went in equal after Degradation Derek ran in a 78yard return.
The second half began with a return blitz putting the defence under pressure from the get go but they were able to react quickly and cage up the degenerate. By midway through the second half the recovery was complete and the defence was down to five and the game looked to be as good as won but some great movement from the Gutter Runners resulted in the ball popping out and the Doomclaw getting an opportunity to make a name for himself but unfortunately a trip at the vital moment saw him crash down and with him any hope of the Raiders stealing a victory. From there on in it was free running for Moldy Mike all the way to victory. The game went the way of team value but if the two teams meet up in the cup later in the season it may well be a different battle. Not one for the record books but definitely one for the Festering Epedemic to enjoy.
