“OBBA MLS Season 21 Game 1

The Galaxy started Season 21 with a Blitz! The lizards were rocked back on their heels by our speed and agility, and had to use the wizard to stop Robbie Keane from stealing the kick. Really, all they had to do was wait for him to Go For It again, he would have done their work for them. Still, it caused enough disruption that Landon was able to recover a bouncing ball from a failed Blitz turnover by the Re-evolution. The Galaxy scored and their defense held the rest of the 1st half. 2nd half the Re-evolution got a Perfect Defense and forced the Galaxy to keep switching sides of the field. With pressure mounting, Mike Magee teamed up with Josh Saunders on a perfect dodge-hand off-pass combo that David Beckham caught and dodged away for a score. Then a riot wound the clock forward and the lizards had to field a deep kick. But Shalrie Joseph made his 3rd flawless pickup of the game and it was on. Saunders really could learn a thing or two from that Saurus. The Galaxy had a chance to turnover and score, but the Re-evolution knocked Magee down on a 1 die block by a SKINK (oh, the shame), and Robbie Keane was laughing so hard he tripped on an easy dodge away to mark Joseph. He wasn't laughing when the final whistle blew, but Magee had a smirk on his face. The lizards ended with a beautiful pass from Darrius Barnes to... HIMSELF! Seems the skink didn't want it, because he forgot what turn it was and was afraid for his scales. I swear, I think Darrius slapped him upside the head as he caught his own pass.

Thanks for the game, TP. My elves definitely performed better than the last time we met. It only took me getting a few kickoff events to go my way (forgot about the extra reroll). Good luck this season.

edit - Oh yeah, Tommy Meyer and Omar Gonzalez lasted far longer than I thought they would. Guess the armorsmith finally patched up those chinks from last season.”
