“Back from the winter break the Studmens shook off their run of bad form and actually got lucky!
We won the toss and chose to receive. This was disastrous but could have been worse, T2 I misclicked a Blitz with Franco instead of Arnie which meant a 5+ dodge instead of 2+ thankfully he made it but it didn't really matter as I let a Skink make 2 dodges for a 2db on the carrier which he made and powed him. There was a bit of a scramble for the ball before a Skink picked it up in a TZ to score - too lose play from me vs the sneaky little mens.
A misguided Dirty Trick imo - I would have gone for a Merc Skink - meant that a Skink was sent off because of Secret Weapon.
Then on our second try at receiving a QS meant that happygrue caught the kick off then Franco BH the Krox - 11 vs 9 and things were actually looking up!
Some boneheads were problematic one turn but we actually put together a pretty good drive and managed to score on T8 after all, 1-1 at half time was better than I expected after the nightmare start!
A BH Saurus meant it was 11 vs 8 2nd half and if we could keep it tight we were in with a shot... but I overcommitted like a prize noob on turn 1 of the 2nd half, hoping for the 1/9 failed dodge. A switch meant that all I could do was make some rolls and mark the ball. I basically gave up on this but with the first BT dodge being a 6 Franco made a 2nd dodge and managed to mark the Skink who duly rolled the 1/9 fail this time, woop woop! It was basically plain sailing from here as we had enough Ogres to man mark the Saurus and managed to 3DB and foul out the remaining Skinks.

Very happy with the win here despite my rusty play, and vs a living legend(!) He may have had the hand of god but he did not have the dice of god!
