The opening onslaught from the Mutants was ferocious and the Vipers lost the ball and position on the pitch.
The second half was a different matter with the Vamps pressurising the ball and unlucky not to steal it. Rioting fans put paid to any hope of a vamp comeback.
Helmut Wulf took a while to get his chainsaw on the right setting but lasted a surprising amount of time.
Wilhelm allowed the vamps to fake a drive to their right flank and then switch across to the left for their only touchdown. Ineffective in the first half due to being caught up in the fray and eventually knocked out by a low blow.
