Some games are hard fought, and some games require beating the opposition so badly they have no choice but to forfeit.

This was such a match.

The opening drive saw the Hobos receiving the kick. A blitz on the kick nearly put the Hobos in a deep hole early, that may have proved too deep to overcome, considering the speed of Robert Plant. Fortunately, the elven speed rusher was a step too slow, and Harkon eventually barreled along the sideline for a slow, clock eating score.

Turn 8, Robert Plant answered with a quick TD before the half.

By this time, the Hobos had downright brutalized the elves, leading to a 10 on 6 matchup. Early on in the elves drive, things took a turn, and looked very much in the Hobo's favor. However, in typical elven fashion, they recovered. They made quickly towards the back of the pitch to attempt a stall, but the Hobos were too well positioned as the ball lay in the endzone. Max Cavalera dived away from a dwarf and took the lead for his team.

Still, there were 4 turns left. More than enough time for any dwarven team to tie the game. Winning the pitch war 10 to 5, however, the Hobos saw victory in their grasp.

The ball was kicked, Harkon moved to recover, but Gricknash was quicker, and recovered instead. Gricknash stepped up into a very deep Dwarven pocket, looking to launch the ball downfield like some kind of elven quarterback. He was just outside of Robert's maximum range, as Harkon moved to set up a block. Then the dwarven line exploded on the left side, crushing two more elven bodies, leaving only 3 on the field. Steelshawn was promptly ejected from the game for his blatant elbow drop.

Plant backed off rather than attack the ball. Max took a boot to the head, and ten, only Robert remained. Goldtooth grinned from the ground, as Gricknash handed the ball to Harkon. There were 2 turns left, the runner was in scoring position, and the lone elf was still in range. Dor'Iron moved to assist as Ser Goldtooth flipped up from the ground, then bore into the elven catcher. The impact was horrific, the follow up was enough to clear the pitch.

It was turn 7.
Harkon shot into the endzone with time still on the clock.

And then the ref blew the whistle again, signifying that the game was over. No elves could be fielded on the pitch. With time left on the clock, by rule, the Hobos were awarded an additional TD as the clock was advanced. For the second time, the Hobos had claimed victory by simply eliminating all opposition.

Good game man. You made me fight for that win all the way to the last man.
