#1 Dont'a Hightower – Broken Jaw (MNG)
Game was played in Broekwater, and Patriots elected to receive. Hightower got a special treatment, was allowed to walk into the stadium 1st, as he got the league MVP honor. He went straight to the LOS.

When the game began, it was Hightower's action. When the loudspeaker wondered how a league MVP will start a season, he immediately injured his opponent for the amusement of the crowd. Then Mayo was next, and it seems he picked up lots of stuff during offseason video-sessions, as he killed with his 1st ever block in the 2nd season! Then Patriots consolidated position, and showed that the new acquisitions are also capable. Flynn picked up the ball with ease, and Mike Adams KO's the guy at front of him.
The 1st half was pretty straightforward with one exception when the Thunderbolts stormed Flynn. But the new QB showed poise and pocket awareness, blocked when he needed to, dodged when he needed to, and went for a relatively easy score.

The 2nd half saw the Thunderbolts setting up a screen with bad execution on the thrower-catcher "exchange" at the end. Patriots were quick to capitalise, Mallett closed the sideline, Gilmore shut down their catchers, Broekwater LINE showed what they are famous for, blocked the whole opposing line, then blitzers set up a screen, Flynn at the middle, Joyner picked up the ball, and handed over to Flynn. Altdorf made some pressure, but all they could force was a quick score.
Then Thunderbolts made an impressive attack. In spite of good looking defense, they managed to avoid Gilmore, flank the defense, outrun the safety, and score. They obviously hoped for a blitz result, but the Altdorf defensive coordinator did not call any, or the famous Patriots D-line prevented its execution. At the end Flynn showed he can command the passing game, he and delivered a nice intermediate pass to Jernigan for the final score.

Overall good result, bad to lose Hightower against Flashfurt, but we are onto that game. Our focus will be sharp, in spite of being handcuffed by that injury to the league MVP, we will try our best to execute against the defending champion, and kick some asses.

#8 Bobby Zeitler – Dead (RIP)
#14 Eddie "the Heel" Johnson – Groin Strain (MNG)
A brutal game summed up by the first turn where the so called "Patriots" decimated the entire line of scrimmage.

Things did get a bit better after that in the inaugural Jerry Harris memorial game: disappointed (but not surprised) to see the "Patriots" utterly fail to respect the minute of silence: but the human J formed on the pitch looked fantastic.

We did de-Hightower he Patriots early on and ensure that he will miss the next game: this doesn't realy help our chances but was very satisfying.

Eddie got "badly hurt" early on: he's a bit of a coward so there was no fouling on our part.

Once again the "Patriots" killed a player: RIP Bobby Zeitler, gone and probably forgotten.

Th only TD for the Thunderbolts was a sweet passing and hand off maneuver: new signing Morris Claiborne running in the score. Other draftees kicker Catenz, QB Ryan Leaf and Lineman Reiff did not particularly impress: will need to do better in the draft next season I think...

I could write something about the "Patriots" touchdowns but i can't really be bothered.

Next time we play at the Thunderdome: we will have our revenge....
