First of all, let me extend a big thank you to Caleb. Despite absolutely shocking luck on his part and on-fire dice on mine, he kept his cool and never once gave the impression that he wasn't enjoying the game. As an example of my luck: In 16 turns "Pretty" failed just one really stupid roll. Granted it was a crucial one, but still. Plus the elves successfully avoided his tentacles just once in 9 attempts.

The Praag had a great start to the game, reducing the Elves to just six players very early on thanks to Max and his chainsaw and a number of fouls. The Pestilence happily walked in a touchdown on turn 8.

However, with the Elves receiving at the start of the turn I was perhaps too cautious. I lost the WIL Fringe final a few days ago with ten on the pitch against just five wood elves in overtime, so I knew how easily and quickly elves can score even at half-strength. I held back my Pestigors until about turn 5, when I got the ball close to the Elven endzone. But in fairness I think that's what Caleb was waiting for. He made a break for the endzone after winning back the ball and I made a stupid error on the final block of my turn 7 to prevent the touchdown - despite the fact the Elves had no one else in position to collect the ball, instead of choosing the both down result I idiotically chose to use a re-roll and only got a push on two dice.

I honestly don't even remember registering the both down result in the heat of the moment. Caleb even had to point it out to me after the fact. So once again I allowed myself to snatch defeat (well, a draw in this case) from the jaws of victory.
