CIBBL First Season Winter Friendlies

Don Enrique, maecenas of the Noblemen was watching the Cabalvision highlights of his team versus the foreigners from Nippon for the fourth time that night in the crystal ball. The Nipponese came to Montetriste as favourites, having won their two previous games 3-0. The Estalians had two draws under their belt this winter season.

He let the coach Don Gabriel have the money to pay a journeyman and two mercenary guardavías, after listening to the poor man's rambling about the Nippon butchers.

The broadcast started with a short montage of the Cult's great triumphs and their pre game ritual. The ritual was a curious affair. Some kind of daemon creature was surrounded my three sitting warriors in weird armour. They were served tea by about half a dozen servants wearing some kind of soupbowl as hats. It was all in all very civilezed, Don Enrique observed.
Following that there was a small bit about the Estalian pre game ritual. It was the coach, Don Gabriel begging his players to perform properly at least once in their lifetime and not to forget to put on their armour.

The coin toss was won my the Nipponese and they chose to receive. Most of the Estalian team set up for defense helmetless, missing severeal pieces of armour. The first half was a complete walkover. The ashigaru (who turned out to be players, not servants) were fooling around in the backfield, trying to pass the ball, but failing laughably. The Noblemen tried to rush them, but their dwindling numbers hurt them and they failed. Their only chance came late in the first half, when a samurai held the ball near a prone bloquerador, who feigned unconciousness. Suddenly he jumped up attacked the ballcarrier just to have his ribs broken and several internal organs destroyed by a lethal strike. The apothecary managed to intervene quickly enough to save his life. After that the samurai walked in for an easy touchdown.
At halftime most of the Noblemen returned and we could hear a short interview with Coach Quemar. The speech was so filled with profanities that it got nominated for the Slaanesh Literary Award right away. After that we could hear the half time speech of Don Gabriel. True to his nature the flamboyant coach used some strong language. So strong in fact that the priest of Montetriste's Myrmidia worshipping congregation reported that the statue of the goddess started to bleed from the ear.
Before the second half a footage was shown where Don Gabriel is praying to Nuffle, offering the customary burnt sacrifice to the six faced god, dice made of dung.

The second half started with the Noblemen on offense and Rodrigo getting hit on the head with a petrified bowl of rice.
It was the full teams again, as the knocked out players mostly woke up. The nipponese tried to pressure the ball carrier, but the fortunes have turned and it was the Estalians' turn to hit hard. Miguel smashed the hand of a Ronin early, ensuring numerical advantage. Estalians advanced slowly, overwhelming the Nippon team with precise and effective blocking, taking more players out of the game. Carlos Dosdaga killed the underhanded peasant Hazu with a brutal strike to the throat. The poor soul died after minutes of choking. Finally Bernardo walked in safely for the touchdown.

Nippon Play of the Game: Lethal Strike's brutal stiff arm, that almost sent Juan Robleduro, the promising blocker to an early grave.

Noblemen Play of the Game: Carlos Dosdaga's lethal blow, that crushed the windpipe of Hazu, leading to his death.

Cabalvision Game Summary: A hard fought game of two completely opposite halfs. Draw was the fairest result.

Don Enrique clapped three times and the crystal ball went dark. He smiled. There might be still hope for his team.
