#6 Avery Williamson – Smashed Ankle (-MA)
#11 Justin Bethel – Dead (RIP)
#14 Henry Jackson – Broken Neck (-AG)
Absolutely the craziest game I've played in DLE.

The first drive was one of the worst ever, and Justin Bethel is a good option for this week's "Sucker!" award, though it will have to be granted posthumously. As usual he was on the front line, eager to deal out that Mighty Blow. Facing a solid ST4 line, he needed dauntless to get 2d, but failed. 1d - skull, rerolled, skull. So partly he messes up my positioning, but no biggie. Then the Cardinals just pound on me, sending Avery out with a smashed ankle, even after the doctor saw to him, and end their turn by fouling the prone Justin, which led to his demise.

I was soon down 5 players, but made a daring run for it with my own ST4 lineman, Zach, who had gotten in a position to get away. A dodge and 1d block sent him falling over, and the bounce ending up the hands of a Cardinals player. 0-1 and a horrible feeling of dread.

The rest of the game was as crazy. I made a 2-turn TD with Davante simply running past any defenders (yay Ag4!). I got lucky and half ended 1-1. Eric Kendricks showed on multiple occasions why he's the boss, and never has the MVP been more deserved. In the final moments of the game he dodged and ran extra hard to bring down the catcher going for the winning score, all with no reroll. And that was maybe the third he brought the ball down this game?

Anyway. Starting 2nd I got a Blitz! Stephen ran ahead and caught it! Cardinals took it back and ran the other way. A little back and forth, but newly gifted Ag4 blitzer Henry Jackson brought down the ball and found a moment to dodge run and pass up to Stephen a turn later to run in 2-1. Whooo!

8 players in what was now sweltering heat couldn't stop 2-2. But 11 players for the final drive! I pushed hard ahead, and the Cardinals closed around me. I went for the direct score, needing a few pushes and then 3+4+ for the pass (with skill rerolls!) and made it. Just a 1d blitz and the way was (almost) clear! Skull. Caught by Cardinals catcher. A moment later Kendricks saved the day, and in a crazy turn of events I got a chance to pass the ball ahead in the dying seconds. 6+ pass......Hit! and caught in a TZ! Just a dodge and victory! Crash!

Great fun. It hurts, but feels good anyway. Thanks.
