The Booze hounds first foray into the Black Box was a 2-nil defeat to the fresh out the box, Chaos Team, Minä Olen Myyrä. The match began with chaos kicking to the brash Necro, who made a quick break for a quick touch down. This eagerness was probably due to the brilliant coaching both sides had received prior to kick-off.

The too enthusiastic, or too drunk by Coach Verkool’s accounts, where quickly countered and Minä Olen Myyrä defended well. Knowing they had over extended, Ale decided to make a break for it and dodge pass the Beastman blocking his road to glory! However right at the white the drive was stopped by a failed dodge.

The Chaos team created a counter drive and took the ball up the other side of the field. The Booze hounds were already screened back as they had not recovered from defending their initial drive. Both Ale and Dark Rum tried in vain to dodge and tail the Beastman ‘Experimental Skill Build’, however it was in vain as a TD was made in the last moments of the first half. Dark Rum focused his rage on a Chaos Warrior known as ‘Nothing of value was lost’ and killed him before the whistle blown. His corpse was raised and added to the ranks of the Booze Hounds.

The second half began with the Booze hounds kicking to the confident Chaos, while a riot broke out in the crowd. They began their drive, after the time lost due to the chaos of the crowd, Minä Olen Myyrä’s strategy was solid and they progressed up field. However Dark Rum’s blitzed the ball carrier and freed the ball. Ale tried to recover and pick up the ball but once again failed the dodge and landed face first in the ground. It wasn’t long after the Beastman ‘Experimental Skill Build’ scored his second touchdown of the game.

Minä Olen Myyrä kicked to the Booze Hounds, who were down the Wight ‘White Wine’ as he has been badly hurt by the Chaos Mino ‘Myyrä’. The Booze hounds where clearly frustrated by the score on their debut game. They gambled and went heavy down one side, only for a high kick to the other side they had dedicated to. Luckily Dark Rum ran down pitch like a hell hound on fire and caught the ball. He went aggressively towards the touchdown zone, knowing little time was left. However, he was blitzed down by the huge Mino Myyrä, who promptly picked up the ball and mockingly passed the ball back to the Beastman ‘Get Junked’ knowing that a touchdown was impossible with the time left.

This lead Dark Rum into a frenzied blitz of Get Junked and freeing the ball, to which the Zombie Cointreau decide to try and copy the Chaos celebration. However, the downed zombie was only able to hobble so far before falling on the ball and bouncing it into Dark rum’s paws.
We asked Coach Verkool for some words on the match and here is what he had to say:

“While I would like to say I am proud of the team for their effort, they were overly brash and were out skilled by Minä Olen Myyrä. I would like to congratulate coach Stonetroll on their win. However, I want to point out that the Booze Hounds went toe to toe with the Chaos and managed to recruit a new zombie for the team. What we need to work on in the future is clearly our dodges and making sure we don’t need to rely on these as much. I will be coming up with some new strategies for the team and their issues is positioning… thank you! And no I do not believe their drunkenness played any factor is this loss that was only a joke made in passing… Good bye!”
