We managed to end the tourney season on a positive note, taking home the coach's third Minor title this year and settling his score with coach Chainsaw. Pig Sty Alley is a Big team, over 600 matches played, but their Tacklers didn't bring any other atrition skills tonight and that showed in the Cas Box. Some good fouls but not enough to take our numbers down seriously.
We chose to kick, but they played a flawless offence and our one turner attempt failed. We were able to stall our score out to T5 of 2nd half and played an aggressive defence, forcing coach Chainsaw to run for it with a lone Wolf. We got the 3+, multiple 2+ and Pow we needed (and a Stun on top), and managed to not only steal the ball, but pass it to our AG5 for the win just before the final whistle.
Well played Chainsaw, see you in the Majors next year!”
“I made a mistake in the crucial final drive at 1-1 and paid for it dearly as Nuffle didn't help our cause nor hinder the dark elves thereafter.
I tried a go for it to put a prone player in a tacklezone and hit a 1. Given I'd been struggling with go for its most of the game (not a luck qualm - was hitting lots of pows, for example) it was not a wise move as it meant there was a big hole through which the side stepping blitzers could get through to mark the ball carrying Palm. This complicated my next turn, and the cover was inadequate to keep ahold of the ball. Without that go for it, I remain in control of the drive and probably go on to win (or at least overtime).”
