“What an awesome way to start a season! Or..?

We came out with a fury that had been building between seasons and punched in 6 cas during our first 7 turns. That we ended up 0-1 during those same turns seems like the coach made something wrong somewhere!

The very first knock down of the game resulted in the death of David Molk, it was our own Sully Johnson who did the honors.

I pushed ahead with the ball as I tend to do, and it was swarmed by Legion players hoping for the best. I needed a dodge and a short pass to secure 1-0, but the pass was fumbled. The Legion then sent their ogre to blitz away Shaun Hill, sending him out with a Smashed hand. Won't be fumbling any passes next game Shaun!

They then stole the ball and survived the returning 2d rerolled and scored their first TD. We really felt the absence of Kendricks, as we fielded 0 tackle players against a team with 4 Ag4 catchers.

In setting up for the second drive Badpublicity indicated that 0-0 and no damage to George and David had been better, which caused the fans to boo and invade the pitch. One side was laid wide open. Because the fans had earlier attacked the ref I took the time to properly foul Pierre Garcon who had the bad manners to score the first TD. Badly hurt, but the ref did not care about our bribe!

This opened for a series of crazy twists and turns. The Legion stole the ball, going first ahead, surviving a 2d rerolled on the ball, then bringing backwards. This time the ball was hit and sent flying...into the hands of opposing ogre Josh Chapman! The only threat was my own Josh, who was brought down and fouled by 4 players... no armor break!

Josh stands up, punches that ogre in the face, knocking it out, and sending the ball into the waiting hands of a Vikings player. Hand off and 1-1 in the dying minutes of first half.

Second half sees only 10 Legion players standing up, vs 11 Vikings (only had 13 to begin myself!)

They push up one side, then get boxed and move to the other side. Hard to keep all that ag4 under control, but they are forced into a pass that is almost dropped (rerolled) and 1-2. I set up for 1 turn score, but knock down the player instead. I push ahead once more, but Cyrus finally messes up, and leaves the ball open. The Legions swarms ahead and take the ball. I need a dodge to get a frenzy 2d on the ball, but fall down.

I try to follow, but they are just too fast, but I manage to mark the catcher next to the end zone...and then Josh Chapman tries a block that goes all wrong, and suddenly I can go again! 2d rerolled on the catcher...does not go down. Then need 3+3+ dodge (with dodge) and a gfi to 2d the catcher into the stands...but alas. Failed dodge. 1-3 and game over.

Good exploits by the Legion when the chance was there. I should probably be more careful. It hasn't been the style of the Vikings to play a careful game, but they might have to learn.”
