#2 Celeste – Smashed Ankle (-MA)
FUMBBL Smack Scheduled - Brawl 55 Round 1:
We received, and with a sweltering heat, did not want to have to score prematurely, as they had 13 players to our 11. We had to use an early T2 apoth on our BH 4str blitzer.

On T3, we managed to surf and BH (no regen) a wight. But, suddenly, we found ourselves with 4 KOs and a reserved 4 str blitzer. So, we felt that we had to push forward, but their wolf doubled back and managed to pow him, gfi twice and recover the ball. We were unable to blitz him, but did put two players in his TZs, forcing him to attempt to dodge away.

We managed a 2 BD blitz and were able to pow the wolf, but were now out of RRs. Their other wolf managed to recover the ball, but we again blitzed and powed, resulting in a casualty (regen). The ball bounced back to our witch, conveniently on T7. The wolf then blitz the witch giving her -1 Ma.

We missed the 2+ pickup on T8 to attempt a TD pass, leaving our MB+Tackle blitzer exposed to an easy surf, thankfully not injured.

They managed a hand-off and 2GFI TD on T4 to their werewolf, but were left with only a single RR to our 4. We opted to let our 4 str blitzer recover and control the ball.

A riot moved the clock back, and we were able to knock down and foul/KO their ghoul. On our following turn, we KOed their 9 Ma wolf. We were able to walk-in for an easy T8 TD to tie it up 1-1 and force OT. With the heat and their having some key KO rolls, this could really have gone either way.

They won the toss and were getting the ball, but their key KOs did not return... While the heat hit us harder, taking out 3 of our players to their none. The end result, 9 v 7 for them, with their best wolf and a wight as their only ball carriers, no RRs, but receiving the ball vs. our 4 blitzers, 1 witch, and 2 RRs.

We kicked it deep. They backtracked for it with most of their team, which was fine for us, it meant the majority of the action would be in their half. They managed to pick-up the ball, but we were able to run around their front line and apply pressure.

They were able to cage up, but were still not in a great position, with us all around them. On T4, they rolled block/skulls and our wrestler took one for the team, going down. We managed to blitz and BH their wolf, while leaving their ball carrier more-or-less surrounded.

Their ball-carrier managed to get free but would not have been able to protect himself and fell on a gfi attempt. Our 5 Ag Blitzer managed to recover the ball and we were able to protect him. We were able to complete the 3+ pass for the game winning TD.
