#7 Hall Solvisson – Groin Strain (MNG)
#8 Heriolf Wengosson – Dead (RIP)
The final game of the season approached. After numerous delays the Norse Dwarf knew that they had to win to come 1st, a draw would mean 2nd and a loss would mean 3rd place. Some suspected the Norse Dwarfs and Albion teams had been delaying the game on purpose so they would know what result was needed in their final match, others heard stories that Coach frogboy and his Albion team got lost in the short trip to Norsca. Only the coaches really know.

By the time the game was ready to play the Norse Dwarf fans had all gone home. But the Albion fans arrived on their ships along side the team, filling the stadium with 14,000 fans, while only 5,000 Norse Dwarf supporters managed to make it back for the rescheduled fixture. This did not phase coach Garion though as they were performing better on the road and felt this may feel like an away game to his players.

The referee flicked the coin for the final time in spring. Coach Garion called correct again, getting the coin toss right in all his games this season. He elected to receive first hoping to cause some damage to un-armoured barbarians. Not only did the Dwarfs fail to do anything greater than stun an opposing player one of their players foolishly took position on the wing and the Albion Berseker quickly pushed the player in to their home crowd who beat him to a pulp knocking the player out.

The Dwarfs spread themselves out, moving away from the stead fast Fen Guard and went after the Fen Beast, while keeping an eye out for any puny pixies they could find. The Albion team held their line well pushing the Dwarfs back in to compact group in the middle of the pitch. Things were going badly. The Dwarfs looked stuck in a battle in the middle of the pitch that was going no where. Then a Pixie tried fouling a prone Dwarf and the referee spotted the attempt straight away, sending the pixie off for the remainder of the game. This opened up a small hole down one wing, the Dwarfs had a long way to go and very short legs, but the touchdown looked possible for the first time in the match.

The Dwarfs KO'd two more pixies which cleared the path to the end zone and made the outcome appear much brighter. But there was still a sizeable hole in their screen and a Beserker took full advantage, knocking the ball carrier in to the crowd, who threw the ball central. Fortunately for the Dwarfs the Beserker had positioned him self high up the pitch in case anything like this happened and he dodged free from his opponent grabbed the ball and made the touch down. 1-0. Things were really looking up now. The Championship was in sight.

The 2nd half kicked off with the Slumbering Dragons receiving, they had a 1 man advantage. The Dwarf that was crowd surfed in the opening moments of the game still refused to move. The Dwarfs targetted the Pixies to try and even the numbers up but they would not be knocked down. The Dwarfs were huffing and the Albion team made a line for the end zone down one flank. The Pixies then switched sides and darted diagonally across the pitch, screening their ball carrier. Most of the Dwarfs were tied up, so the only player in range was the Ulfwerner. Not known for his agility Dagsson dodged in to the Pixie screen and smashed the ball carrier to the floor. The Dwarfs surrounded the ball and just hoped they could keep anyone from picking the ball up. A brave Pixie tried to grab the ball whilst it was surrounded but to no avail. The ball popped loose and fortuitously landed in a Dwarfs hands. The small group of Dwarf fans went crazy as the Dwarf Lineman Wengosson ran the ball in for a touchdown.

This would be a bitter sweet end for Wengosson's career though as the ball was kicked off with seconds remaining a Fen Guard killed Wengosson with a might block. The final Whistle Blew and the match winner and title winner Wengosson would not live to see his team lift their first ever trophy.

Winning this game would have put us within reach of the title with a game in hand. But alas the Norse Dwarfs... Cheated i say, with their dirty beards and naked chests, err its discusting...
Thats quite enough of that nonesence...

Haha only joking, was a good game. Very tight with few opportunities.

Congratz to Garion :)
