Patriots entered the game with some players missing due to the (post)April fools day massacre. The Classics gave a pretty good beating, killing Smelter, forcing the retirement of Glennon, and maiming Clifton and Adams proficiently. Due to that the game plan for the 1st half was conservative, and involved some rookies. Hoyer and Allard were brought up from the practice squad, and they endured the rigors admirably.

The 1st half was a mixed bag. Patriots received, and scored quickly. Griffins were agressive in their approach, and their efforts were rewarded. The teams traded hits, and at the end Griffins stalled out the half. 1-1 at the break, and Griffins driving.

And here came coach, with a haltime speech that lit the players on fire.

'We played at acceptable level so far, avoiding the big mistakes. Also worked on their hard hitters. But this wont be enough. Lets make something out of the situation, and lets play like it is playoffs. Use all your talent, and follow the following scheme of matchups you have to seek! Are you ready?!!'

And so it went, with the help of Nuffle, as the CAS conversion rate of 13% attest. Khalil Mack did what was expected, but the big contribution came from midseason acquisitions! Wolfe and Sanders had 3 CAS combined, including a crowd terrifying hit on Watt. The Ogre was shaken, and fallen to the ground without pulse! The Griffins apothecary was long deliberating the treatment, but finally figured out how to save the life of the behemoth.

The sack of Bortles took care of the ball, but it was Patton, who scored at the end. It was a formality. Last 2 turns spent with some minor scuffle, both teams seemed to accept the result, and refraining from landing pointless hits.

The post game training revealed 3 new skills, Upshaw/Patton learning block skill, and Zidina learning Wrestle. The team also welcomed back Adams and Clifton to the fold, who both recovered (although limping) from their previous injuries. On to the Thunderbolts!
