“cough cough... khemri ballin'..."

Khemri have been a lesson for me in *not* playing like an elf coach. Those are my instincts - for better or worse - and I've been doing my darnedest to try and control the pitch, not get out of position, and not stretch myself too thin.

Well that all had to go away for portions of this game. Kicking off, we try to either keep them from turning the corner... or we force them to score early so we don't have to score in two turns or less. We were kinda knocked off the pitch early and we didn't get a knock down until turn 5, I think..? We barely made a threat to get a 1D on the ball carrier in order to influence them to score on their T7 of the first half. They did. So we had to run a stretch play.

DeShone fumbled the handoff from Bernie, but we did have Khody Khessler run down (ideally to run interference for DeShone)... and the Shingles didn't like a push on him, so they rerolled into coconuts. DeShone was able to retrieve his fumble, hand off to Khody (after being cleared free by Brandone) and we stole the equalizer.

That made the 2nd half slightly more simple, as we just had to think about beating on folks and slowly moving down the pitch. We moved fairly well, but didn't really ever remove anyone. And without a number advantage, we were hesitant to foul in order to get one. And while DeShone has confidence in his own ability to get places - he is also a POW magnet when he's hit. He made a decent reversal to get out of range of the worst of the bulls, but Jonathan Johnson was still able to get a path cleared and punk him in the face - stunning the Blodge/Sidestepping Thro-Ra for my turn 8.

... actually wasn't too elf-ballsie, but did chain push my own Blitz-Ra into a square so he could -2D block the other bull, Justin Hunter, off the ball... so Isaiah Khrowell - pedestrian skeleton extraordinaire - could dodge out of a tackle zone, pick up the ball, and score on T8 for the victory. Aenir would be proud.
