“Closer game than I would have expected my first match-up with 'flings to be while playing fancy elves. The little guys were assisted by Deeproot and Zara, and both performed admirably throughout the game.

The fling team won the blocking game hands down 32-19 and scored the first touchdown of the game after snatching up a dropped hand-off too close to the "treeline". Elves equalized with an uncomplicated, low-risk two-turn score.

In the second half, team Kicker Jukan Håholt was killed by a tree, and the coach decided to save the apothecary for possible injuries later on rather than try to revive him, a decision he may come to regret due to less predictable ball placement in coming games which usually works out very well for elves in Blitz situations.

Eventually a strip ball elf managed to dodge in between Zara and a tree and knock the ball loose with a 1 die block. Some fumbles later (and a good shot at picking up the ball by Zara herself), the elves managed to lob the ball up the field to some waiting receivers, and the end of the match was an uneventful stalling game. Not pretty, but the elf coach decided he couldn't risk a riot and/or a TTM scoring attempt by the sneaky short-statured woodsmen.

Game was a Nordic derby of sorts, and was played in good cheer.
