“We blitzed forward against the Thug Ogres, and Superiore quickly cas'd a snot (after rr). But their best Ogre Bruk did have the ball from a touchback. He had a rush of blood to his head and decided to go as fast as he could up the flank to blitz, but fell and was stunned. The ball was fortunately for us caught by a skink, Pintxos. Both sides lost some players and just as we were looking to get comfortable Pintxos failed the crucial dodge. A snot fumbled and Pintxos got it back and approached the endzone. Bruk dodged out and took him down! A diving tackle skink stopped them picking up and another skink just managed to get the ball up and over the line.
Both sides atarted with 11 players, and we were now kicking with 11 v 9, though we had used the apo. The Ogres killed off a loner to reduce the player deficit. We crowded them, and though the Ogres defended stoutly we picked off snots with hard blows so eventually a skink had the chance to take down their snot carrier and Pintxos got the ball away for the 2nd TD. We had done well, though Diablo had been remarkably dumb so far.
Second half was like a different match. We were 10 v 7, including 5 Ogres. The Ogres were furious. Bruk cas'd a skink and went after Pintxos. With his second attempt he cas'd him too and a snot got the ball! Our overconfidence was shown to be folly and eventually we ended conceding a TD, taking some poundings on the way. But we get out with a win and without injuries beyond next match.
Diablo had something like 9 boneheads today! But is rewarded with an MVP and shows big improvement.”
