“Here we faced Norse. Their Runner caught the kicked ball, and a journeyskink was ko'd. After some hitting their carrier was left open after two blocks from Saurii needed to give us the blitz space. Superiore ran in, smashed him down and Pintxos retrieved the ball and went back behind our line. It seemed too good a start to be true. And it was as we didn't quite cover the blitz back properlyand a runner managed to gfi and 1db pow down Pintxos. Ko'ing him. After fumbles on both sides it seemed super agile Santo may have saved us as he took the ball forward out of tackle zones. But a Beserker made his 4+ dodge blitz and again we had a carrier down. Santo still retrieved the ball but we didn't get enough of the Norsemen down and this time a Wulferener did the hitting honours, crucially KO'ing Santo. There was still time left but we were without skinks. Not only that but Diablo double skulled and then the Norse actually pulled off a caught pass despite a 3 dice inaccurate scatter! AnIncredible turnaround. We end the half players and a TD down.

Second half Santo was missing so Pintxos did the carrying. He got in range but the Norse double line defended and he pulled back. After a couple of good hits (including a kill by Ultimatos) we were now 10 v 9 and it seemed we could make a draw. But somehow I left a blitz path open and he was 1DB'd down again. Krox was acting boneheaded at this point. After some tussling there was still a late 5+ chance for pickup and then handoff. But I misclicked end turn on Pintxos! So a Loner had to try,...and he failed.

The 2nd match in a row that Diablo has spent a lot of time dumb and contributed to defeat. The Champions record is in danger of crumbling!
The Norse 1DBs, Diablo's failings, some of my coaching errors and our skink carriers being clinically taken out cost us dear. But still we are left wondering how we end up losing this one after our times near their endzone. Was a fun match with a lot of blocks from both sides. Cheers Quinn.
